1 Month Ashtanga Introductie special!

In February we have a 1 Month Ashtanga Introduction Special. In this special program you will have an introduction workshop and a month of access to all classes for a special price! What is part of the program?

  • You will build your own yoga practice which supports your life and needs

  • One of the main benefits of doing yoga: more awaraness  and deeper attention for yourself, your body and your needs

  • A great environment to learn yoga with 1-on-1 guidance in your practice

  • A chance to start with more beginners and discover Ashtanga together (as the workshop is in group setting)

Why Ashtanga?

Ashtanga is a form of yoga which works in a subtile way on several levels. The combination of movements, linked to your own breath, and the repetition of these movements on a frequent basis, starts a journey towards healing the body, mind and nervous system. The body becomes stronger and flexible. The practice and the several postures have a cleansing effect and purify the body of toxins. On a mental or spiritual level benefits include more awareness and compassion towards one self and others. The practice helps in calming the mind and bringing more stability. If you come to your mat with good intentions, you can find  more ease and self acceptance, even if it is your first time! To start with Ashtanga, you don't have to be strong or flexible. Ashtanga is suitable for every age and body type. Come with an open attitude and meet yourself with compassion.

Ashtanga is a method to bring more peace and calm in your life, with benefits for the body (more awareness of the breath, more strength, stamina and flexibility) , mind and soul (more self awareness, compassion and insights on how you are with yourself)

The  most important thing is that you come with an open mind and attitude towards your mat, and are willing to learn and listening to yourself. You will learn in your own pace, with attention and respect for the body. That's why this form of yoga is suitable for everyone.

A practice for YOU

Every body is different: what will work for someone, may not work for you. In the Asthanga method your practice is based on what suits your life and  is possible for your body at any given moment. Your practice is adjustable for your body and needs and therefor truly yours.

About Marjanne

In 2016 I discovered Ashtanga Yoga and it has never let me go ever since. The positive and healing effects on body and mind keep on inspiring me. My practice started 9 years ago in Groningen with Maxi, founder and owner of Bhumi Yoga. Between 2020 and 2022 I have been part of the teaching team at Bhumi Yoga, assisting in class and teaching classes. Besides my own practice, I kept on learning through workshops with several teachers (KPJAYI certified as well) including Elise Greenspoon, Susanna Finocchi, Petri Räisänen and Sharath Jois. These experiences and my northern no-nonsense mentality, and a light-hearted attitude I have brought to Rotterdam to help you and guide you to a calmer life, with more awareness and compassion for you and your inner world.
